For those who are on Facebook and also have created a page for a cause, business, or other group; then you know that there has been a transition to a new look for Facebook profiles and for pages that a person has created. They have gone to what they call a timeline look and everything can be seen, or most likely found, back to when you joined Facebook or started the group page. If you haven't gone to the new timeline format then let me warn you in advance that it can be quite addicting. You can add events to your timeline, add a photo of the event to your timeline, and more.
I believe that one of the great things about Facebook is that it is continually evolving and changing. There always seems to be something new to look forward to with remnants of the past to give you just enough of what you need to make a smooth transition from one format or change to the next. Even with all of the changes they have made through the years Facebook still manages to allow the user to have control with various privacy settings, and that is appreciated by just about everyone.
As with everything in life I am sure there are some who will not like the new profile timeline or page timeline that Facebook is moving towards, and that is to be expected. There is nothing in this world that every human being likes. For example, Jesus died on the cross for our sins so we could live eternally in heaven yet there are still people in the world that do not like him. There are programs that exist in every country to help out families who are in need, yet there are people who think those programs are a waste of taxpayers and government money. The bottom line is that no matter how good something looks or how easy to use it is there will always be someone that doesn't like it. I encourage everyone out there to give the new timeline format on Facebook a chance. You may like it.

Oscars Tonight
Tonight is the annual Academy Awards Show. I am sure it will be full of laughter, beautiful dresses, handsome men, great words, and winners of all kinds. I have always been fascinated by the awards show and all other awards because it is interesting to see who will win and then read later who people think should win. It is also interesting to see a movie win or just be nominated and not understand why.
I use the movies presented at the Oscars as my list of movies that I want to see. Whether it is up for best picture or there is a single movie that got an award for best actor or screenplay. It provides a plethora of movies for one to watch. For example, I might not have ever thought about seeing The Hurt Locker if it weren't for it winning Best Picture and Best Director. That was the year of Avatar; which I thought was GREAT!! I couldn't understand how that movie won over Avatar, so I watched it and it made me understand better and I also saw a great film.
So tonight if you choose to watch the Oscars use it as an opportunity to open your mind to new films and a new genre of work that can be explored. After all, it is the Oscars!

Interesting Pets
![]() |
| Desktop Jellyfish Tank |
Playing on Facebook today I saw an ad that sparked my interest and I clicked on it. The ad was for a jellyfish tank. My first thought was, jellyfish as pets? But apparently it is possible. I would have never thought that this was a creature that you could keep as a pet but upon further research I learned it can be done. There are special requirements and needs for those looking to have jellyfish as pets. After all, they are not the same as fish and have different needs. There are also certain jellyfish that may be slightly dangerous or poisonous so you have to make sure that you don't just catch a jellyfish in the ocean and try to domesticate it. If you think that jellyfish would make an interesting pet and are willing to do a little research and learn how to take care of and provide for this creature then I say go for it. I personally think they would be interesting to have as a pet. It doesn't mean that I would actually keep one as a pet because I am not good about keeping up with animals that require a lot of care, but it would be interesting and unique none-the-less. For anyone who may decide to take the plunge and get some jellyfish...let me know how it goes.

Important Lessons
What are the important lessons that we all learn in life? I believe that they are whatever shapes us and our beliefs as a person. I hope to pass these lessons onto my children as they get to the right age and/or as I learn them. For example, I think it is important to teach children that it is not the materials gifts and things in your life that matter, but the experiences and memories that you can take with you and share wherever you go. I also think that is is important to teach children about community service. They must learn how important it is to serve and give back to the community. You don't have to be rich to give back because it is not about money. It is about being selfless and giving a little bit of time to a cause or causes that you believe in and support. For example, recently I began inquiring about pen pal programs for military personnel/ Why? Because I thought it would be nice to correspond with a service member and make them feel appreciated and at home in some way. If you do a little research you will find that something as simple as sending a letter to someone overseas can have a tremendous impact in their morale. There are other things that I would like to do and other things that you can do in terms of service. The point is to do it and pass on the lessons that you learn in the process.
Not all life lessons will be learned while you are a child. There are some important life lessons that will be learned as an adult. For example, most of us know the saying that goes something like this:
People are in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
This is a lesson that I have learned about and really taken to heart the past few years. I have learned that you can't stay in the same place forever. I have learned how to start letting go of people in my life that served no purpose. I have learned that you need to hold onto those in your life that provide friendship, support, and love in the good times as well as the bad. I have learned that when you meet someone you have to pray and think long and hard as to whether or not they are meant to be a part of your world for a lifetime or just a reason or season. By no means have I perfected this lesson, however, just the simple fact that I have learned it and have in some small way started to let go tells me that you can learn at any age.
My suggestion to everyone out there, whether you have kids or not, is to write down the lessons that you learn as you learn them. Keep a notebook or journal with you and you can jot things down in so that you won't forget them. Important life lessons should never be forgotten and always passed on. I would like to hear what are some of the important life lessons that you have learned and maybe we can all learn from one another.

God Is Always Good
For those who have ever had difficult times or gone though an experience where you didn't know how you were going to get through it, let me just say that God is always good. The only way that anyone can make it through the tough times and get through all the trials and tribulations in their life is to trust in God and have faith that things will work out. They might not work out in the manner that you were expecting and it might not work out when you want it to work out, but God is always on time. He blesses his children with more than you can expect. Blessings don't have to be something big; they can be small as well. A major blessing is just waking up in the morning and having food on your table. A small blessing could be something like being able to spend a night free from distraction with your family. God is always good and he always blesses us with things big and small. The next time you are down and out remember to pray. The next time you have trouble going on in your life just remember to have faith that it will work out. God is always good and that simple thought will carry you farther than anything you could ever imagine.
